Auntie Eman’s Palestinian Breakfast — Right in My Kitchen!

The other day, Auntie Eman came over and completely turned my kitchen into a Palestinian breakfast wonderland. And honestly, it was the best kind of morning. She didn’t just bring food — she brought the whole experience. She set the table herself, decorated everything so beautifully, and even taught me exactly how to style the food so it looks (and feels) special.

Honestly, it felt like a little masterclass in Palestinian hospitality, right at home.

The table ended up looking amazing. There was creamy ful (slow-cooked fava beans) drizzled with olive oil, fresh and tangy labneh, a warm and cozy egg and tomato dish (I’m still dreaming about this one), piles of fluffy pita, crunchy cucumbers, and her homemade white cheese — soft, salty, and perfect. She even brought her own homemade olive pickles, which added the best little kick to every bite.

And of course, there were manaeesh — soft flatbreads with za'atar and olive oil — and steaming Arabic chai to wash it all down. I loved how she showed me exactly where to place each thing, like "put the labneh here so it balances the colors," or "always drizzle olive oil last so it shines!" Little details that made the table feel alive.

More than just the food, it was such a fun and special moment. We laughed, we ate way too much, and I got to learn all these little family secrets that make Palestinian breakfasts feel so full of love. Safe to say, I’ll be dreaming of this morning for a long time!
